Help! I don’t see my zip code listed in your Service Area section! What should I do?
If you don’t see your zip code, please check back often because we are continually expanding our service area. Feel free to call us and yell, “I want to see ARF! Pet Care in my neighborhood!” It’ll be much more effective if you get your friends, family, and neighbors to do the same!
I have a pet alligator! Will you look after him?
Unfortunately, we currently don’t have a sitter with alligator sitting experience. Our sitters do though have a wide range of experience looking after all sorts of pets- dogs, cats, guinea pigs, snakes, spiders, and rabbits, just to name a few. If you have an exotic or unusual pet, please contact us, and we will do our best to accommodate your pet.
Do I have to sign a long-term contract to use your services?
Absolutely not! While the majority of our clients use our services on a continuous basis, we do not require you to sign a long term contract. Feel free to use our services whenever you need us!
So you are insured and bonded. What does that mean for me?
That means if something were to happen while we are performing our services, your pet, and your property are covered. This gives you added peace of mind so you can do what you’re supposed to do while on vacation or away from your home — relax!
Why exactly should I use ARF! Pet Care instead of the high school kid next door?

Well if you don’t mind parties being held at your house while you’re away, then you should definitely use the high school kid next door! At least if we were to hold a party at your house, we’d make sure to invite you!

Why should I use ARF! Pet Care instead of just dropping my pet off at the local kennel or boarding facility?

At kennels and boarding facilities, your pet may be exposed to kennel cough and other airborne diseases, and your pet will generally be confined to a small cage. Taking your pet out of their normal routine, and placing them in a kennel or boarding facility can also cause psychological trauma due to the stress associated with those environments.

At ARF! Pet Care we strongly recommend our in-home pet care services as an alternative to the stressful atmosphere of a kennel or boarding facility. Your pet will be able to maintain their normal routine and enjoy a “free-roaming” environment.

How exactly do you select your sitters?
All of our sitters are interviewed and go through rigorous tests and evaluations to insure they are intelligent, have good character, and have common sense. All references provided are called (even references with long distance numbers!), and our sitters undergo a comprehensive criminal background check. They are professionally trained, and joined regularly in the field to ensure they are providing the best possible service. At the conclusion of all assignments we provide you a satisfaction survey to further confirm that our sitters are exceeding your expectations.

Will I always have the same sitter?

In order to provide you the most personalized and dependable service possible, we strive to match you up with a sitter that lives in your neighborhood, who will perform all of your assignments. If your active sitter ever changes, we will let you know, and you are welcome to meet your new sitter before new assignments begin.

We also schedule an emergency back-up sitter with all assignments. If the back-up sitter is utilized, than we will immediately let you know so that you are aware of the situation.

When will I meet my sitter?
After you have requested your service through our office, or through our online booking system, you should receive a call from your sitter within 24 hours to schedule your free in-home consultation. If you do not receive a call from your sitter within 24 hours please contact us and let us know.
Why do I need a free in-home consultation and how long does it last?

We provide all new clients a free in-home consultation so that you and your pet may get acquainted with your sitter, so you can provide your sitter keys to your home, and so you can give your sitter any pertinent information or directions regarding your pet and/or home. The free in-home consultation typically lasts 30 to 45 minutes.

We aren’t comfortable letting strangers into our home to look after our pet and home, so we figured you would feel the same!

Ok, I want to request my services and I want my free in-home consultation! How do I request them?

Great! You’ve got two options. You can either use our online booking system by clicking here or you can contact us by phone or email by clicking here.

After you have requested your services through our office, or through our online booking system, you should receive a call from your sitter within 24 hours to schedule your free in-home consultation. Additionally, you should receive a confirmation email after your services have been confirmed and scheduled by our office. If you don’t receive a call from your sitter within 24 hours or if you don’t receive the confirmation email, please contact us and let us know.

Can I request services through my sitter?
No, you cannot request services through your sitter. This enables us to centralize our schedules and assignments in our office. We offer several methods of requesting services. You can either use our online booking system by clicking here or you can contact us by phone or email by clicking here.
How do I schedule future services?

After you have requested your services through our office, or through our online booking system, you should receive a confirmation email after your services have been confirmed and scheduled by our office. It is extremely important that you receive this confirmation email since a service is not considered scheduled until a confirmation email has been sent out from our office. If you don’t receive the confirmation email, please contact us and let us know.

Can you accept last minute service requests?

Of course! Last minute requests can be made at an additional cost, subject to the availability of our sitters. The additional cost helps compensate our sitters for cancelling any personal events, and re-arranging their schedule.

All that we ask is that you schedule future services at least 2 days in advance if you’re an existing client (at least 5 days in advance for new clients). During the holidays, services must be scheduled at least 7 days in advance.

How do you figure out what time you will visit my pet?
All of our services are offered any time of day- morning, midday, and evening. At the free in-home consultation, we will find out what your pet’s normal routines are, and we will do our best to visit during that time.
I don’t see your rates! What are your rates?
Our rates depend on a number of factors such as your location, type of pet you have, number of pets you have, and the frequency of services you require. Once we find out a little more about your pet and your needs we can provide an accurate rate. Please contact us to find out customized rates that meet your budget and needs.
What does your satisfaction guarantee mean to me?
Our satisfaction guarantee simply means that if you are ever unhappy with our service, let us know within 10 days of the completion of the service. We will immediately do what it takes to get it right, and we will ensure you are satisfied with the results. Period.
What payments do you accept, and when will I be billed for your service?

We accept payments by credit cards (MasterCard and Visa). We will bill your credit card at the end of each month for all services completed that month.

You will receive a confirmation email after your services have been confirmed and scheduled by our office. This email will serve as an invoice for your records. If you don’t receive the confirmation email, please contact us and let us know.

Can I give the payment for your services to my sitter?

No, with one exception — Your sitter can accept tips (tips are greatly appreciated by our sitters, but not expected).

If there is a problem or I have an emergency while I’m away, who can I call?

Feel free to contact us at our office at anytime, 24/7, 365 days a year!

I’ve read through all the questions and answers and you still didn’t answer my question! What should I do?

You should contact us now, and we will gladly answer any questions you may have.
